One of the secrets of being romantic is to share a romantic prayer with the person you love using quotes of love from Bible verses.  Some of the most romantic poetry is found in the Bible in the Song of Songs.  This prayer for you uses some of the best Bible quotes on love in the form of a prayer.

Romantic Prayer for Your Loved One

couple and waterfall In my prayers I thank God that he has brought you into my life.  Here is my prayer for you and our love today:

Dear God, I am so thankful for the deep feelings of love I have for _____________.

Thank you that my beloved is the one who makes me feel complete, who brings joy and happiness just by being with me.

I pray with the writer of Song of Songs, “Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth, – for your love is more delightful than wine.  Pleasing is the fragrance of your perfumes; your name is like perfume poured out.”  (Song of Songs 1:2,3)  And “How much more pleasing is your love than wine, and the fragrance of your perfume than any spice! (Song of Songs 4:10 NIV)

I thank you God, that every pleasure of life is a thousand times more wonderful when shared with my beloved.  I feel the joy of my lover’s call as written in the Bible:

“My lover spoke and said to me, ‘Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, and come with me.  See!  The winter is past; the rains are over and gone.  Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.  The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance.  Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me.”  (Song of Songs 2:10-13)

I thank you that we have found each other and that we belong to each other as it says, “My lover is mine and I am his;”  (Song of Songs 2:16)   May nothing ever break this bond of love we share.  May our love outlast every life difficulty, challenge and change.  May our love remain strong when we are separated by miles, by job responsibilities, by illness and by family duties.  May we keep each other ever in our hearts and prayers until the sweet and wonderful times when we are together again at last.

I thank you that I can say, “This is my lover, this is my friend.”  (Song of Songs 5:16)  Thank you that we can share our thoughts, dreams, doubts and cares with each other.  Thank you that we can laugh together and work together and play together and that we can trust our hearts to each other and face the future unafraid together.

Make us into a strong unit of one.  “Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave.  It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame.  Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away.  If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.  (Song of Songs 8:6,7)   Keep the flame of our love burning bright.  Thank you that nothing can quench our love unless we let it.  Help us to guard and nurture our love to keep it alive and growing.  Help us to always know that our love is beyond price, more precious than the most precious thing in the whole world.

Thank you that our love can lead us toward heaven and eternity as it draws us closer to each other and closer to you as it says, “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.  Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.”  (I John 4:7)  And so may the deep and passionate love that has led us to each other continue to lead us  toward you that your love may be made complete in us.  I pray this in the love and joy of Jesus, Amen.
