Praying the Apostles Creed
The Apostle’s Creed contains a summary of the basic beliefs of the Christian church. It is often repeated in unison by congregations during worship services and is also used in private or group prayer, particularly as part of the traditional rosary prayer format.
The Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth
and in Jesus Christ His only Son, Our Lord,
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate was crucified, died and was buried.
On the third day, He rose again. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
My Personal Experiences and Tips
I have used the Apostles Creed in private prayer when praying for ecumenical unity and fellowship between the different denominations and branches of the Christian Church as it is something that we all have in common.
The words of the creed may vary according to different denominations. This is one of the more modern language version.
