Prayer for Religious Freedom Where Laws Oppose Christian Evangelism and Freedom of Worship
Prayer is one of our most powerful weapons we have to combat laws that prevent Christians from evangelizing and worshiping in countries around the world. Here is a prayer using Scriptures to open closed doors so that the good news about Jesus Christ and the salvation he offers can be shared with everyone.
Prayer for Religious Freedom
I begin to pour out my prayer to you, oh Father, for your ______people for divine intervention and opportunity and for protection against the destructive powers of Satan that limit and ban Christian evangelism and freedom of worship.
I do not even dare think about this on my own power but rather run toward my high tower and refuge, Jesus Christ who is the Savior of the World and who died that my sins might be forgiven. (Psalm 18:2, Psalm 46:1, I John 4:14) I pray that I might be acceptable in your eyes dear God, not based on my own worthiness but upon trusting the righteousness of Christ . ( Philippians 3:9)
I stand now claiming this territory that is yours and I apply the power of the Holy Spirit to help me pray as I ought. (Romans 8:26,27) Make me an instrument of your Grace and help me speak your words into this situation.
I pray that your Kingdom come and that your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:10) I know that it is your will that not a single one be lost. (John 6: 39) I affirm and claim the truth that you so loved the world, including the part of the world that is ___________, that you gave your only son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
In the strong and powerful name of Jesus I bind and cast out Satan and his designs against the ___________ people to prevent them from hearing the Good News that Jesus is their savior and Lord. (Matthew 18:18, Mark 3:15) I recall the passage where Jesus said, “This kind only comes out by prayer and fasting,” so I pray that you will marshal your great cloud of witnesses and intercessors to stand together in fervent prayer. (Matthew 17: 21, Hebrews 12:1) We believe that he who began a good work in them will bring it to completion on the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6)
You don’t desire sacrifices, but rather a humble and contrite heart. (Psalm 51:16 , Hebrews 6 :6 , I Samuel 15:22) I bow before you not trusting in my own merits but only on the merit of Christ. Jesus is the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. (Hebrews 12:2, Revelation 22:3)
This struggle is for Christ’s kingdom, not for the building up of denominations, institutions or religious organizations. It is for the triumph of God‘s Kingdom and for the harvest of souls God desires in ____________. (Matthew 9: 37)
And so I pray for favor as far as all things concerning any laws that would restrict the spread of Christianity and it’s practice. (Nehemiah 1:11) I claim the scripture “God can change the mind of a king as easily as he can change the course of a river.” (Proverbs 21:1) So I pray that you will change the mind of the ____________leaders on this matter and I pray that these laws will be changed. And I pray that if any laws are proposed now or in the future that you alone will determine the optimal times so that your church and your people will be fully prepared to defend themselves empowered by the prayers of their brothers and sisters in Christ all over the globe. (Daniel 2:21, Psalm 31:15)
Please send individuals who can give godly counsel to the leaders of ___________. (Proverbs 15 :22, Psalm 37: 30) And I pray that you will dispatch these godly counselors with haste. For it says in the Bible, “A king is guided by many counselors.
I thank you that you have promised, “My peace I give you, my peace I leave with you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (John 14:27) In this world you will have tribulation but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. (John 16: 33)
I pray that your people, your Holy church in ____________, will be overcomers, strong and courageous and full of all wisdom and spiritual knowledge. ( Romans 8:37 , Joshua 1:9 , Colossians 1:9) I pray that they will make the most of every opportunity, for the days are evil. (Ephesians 5:16)
We live in a broken world and we are terribly broken people. But you are the great physician who makes all things new. (Psalm 103:3 , Revelation 21:5) You are the restorer of our souls and the lifter of our heads. (Psalm 23:3, Psalm 3:3) May heads no longer be bowed by the oppression of Satan, but instead be bowed down in reverence and prayer to you. (Philippians 2:10) With man this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible. (Mark 10:27)
We end thanking you for knowing our needs even before we ask. (Matthew 6:8) May Jesus Christ be high and lifted up and gloried by all nations, peoples and races. In the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior we pray, a men.
