Prayer for Jewish Friends During Hanukkah
Dear God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob we come to you with a special prayer of blessing for our Jewish brothers and sisters during Hanukkah. As they light each candle on the menorah may their hearts be filled with the Light of the World. As they remember those who have died, may their eyes be directed to Jeshua who is the Way, the Truth and the Life and who grants us eternal life through our belief in Him. For those whose families are far away during this holiday, help them know that Messiah will never leave them or forsake them. As they retell the great miracle when the lamps of purification in the Temple burned for 8 days on a single day’s worth of oil, may their trust and faith in You be miraculously renewed daily during the times in their lives when they don’t think they have the strength or resources to outlast the problems and the pain. Thank you that they look forward with hope and longing to the day when worship will once again be possible in your Holy Temple by praying:
Rocky Fortress of my Salvation
It is delightful to praise You
Restore my House of Prayer
May you fulfill this prayer and may there once again be in Jerusalem a place for Your Shekinah glory to permanently reside. And until that day, may Israel find a holy place of prayer wherever they live around the globe as we commune with You in prayer according to the promise of Jeshua when he said, “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:20)
Y’va-reh’ha Adonai v’uish-m’reha.
Ya-eyr Adonai panav eyle-ha vihu-neka.
Yoda Adonai panav eyle-ha v’ya-seym l’shalom
The L-rd Bless you and Keep you,
The L-rd make His face shine upon you.
The L-rd lift up his countenance upon you,
and give you peace
Amen.
