Does your life situation cause you to wonder, “How do I change the way I manage change and how can I relieve the stress caused by the way disruptive things like disease, family problems and job issues disorganize my life?”  Here’s a powerful  prayer for order using Bible verses written by inspirational writer, registered nurse and cancer survivor Kathy Melville.

How to Manage Change through Prayer

Have you ever felt that your life has changed and the uncertainty of what to do next leaves you feeling disorganized or immobilized or worst… somewhat chaotic or messy?

This prayer is my solution to the necessary evil….change.  It makes us very uncomfortable but change is so necessary if we are to progress, evolve or just recover from the ashes and thrive. We may be sad about this or even joyful because we are excited about a new journey. Either way, something is about to happen!

A Bible Verse on the Disruption Caused by Change

The Prophet Isaiah in Chapter 19 proclaimed the destruction of cities and scattering God’s people who were not obedient to the Lord.

22 And the Lord will strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; they will return to the Lord, and He will be entreated by them and heal them. 24 In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing in the midst of the land, 25 whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.”

Here are some key thoughts from this verse:

1.      Before the healing comes disruption.

This is a disruption that makes you long for the days when you were comfortable and knew the answer to your future. Now your illness or circumstance you created, good or bad, will not only disrupt what you know but leave you with an extreme sense of uncertainty.

2.      God heals his people after the disruption.

In Isaiah 19, God  pulls his people together in the Land and blesses them.  Gods family of believers learn to progress even in disruption or uncertainty.

I may feel disruption in my body mind or spirit at times. My personal circumstances may change and I feel disrupted or out of my comfort zone. That’s when I pray to restore order in the awesome way only going to God can do. It goes like this…

A Prayer for Order

Heavenly Father, Your Book of the Law shall not depart from my mouth, but I will meditate in it day and night, and I will be obedient to you plan for my life. For then you will make a way for me to prosper, and I will have good success.  Joshua 1:8

Allow me to glorify you in my body, mind and spirit. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in me, bought at a price.  (1 Corinthians 6: 18-20 NKJV) Restore order in my body, mind, and spirit that I may carry myself in grace and show mercy and kindness to others.

Create a new order in my personal encounters and restore relationships which are strained or disrupted.  For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

And let us not grow weary while doing well, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do well to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.  Galatians 6

Finally Lord, order my life with your awesome plan. I have tried mine and your plan for me is so much better. Guide me in my actions that I may act appropriately and use the forces of disruption to guide my growth.

Thanking you in advance for your will, my divine inheritance and an answer to my prayer.  AMEN.
