Words of Encouragement
When we’re in need of words of encouragement and perspective this poem can be read both as a tribute to our earthly parents who encouraged us to outlast our pain and problems and it can also be read as words of encouragement from Our Heavenly Father that in time, we will be renewed because in time, all things pass.
Words
I remember when I first learned to ride
I’d fall and scrape my knee
You’d pick me up, wipe the tears from my eyes
Then gently set me free
But your words, they meant so much
So much more than that gentle touch
Could ever mean…
You used to say,
“It’ll be alright, though it may take time-
Just give it an hour or another day.
Trust me, I know, I’ve been there before;
If you give it time,
it’ll be okay!!”
During the times when all seemed to go wrong-
I could do nothing right,
You stayed with me and kept me strong,
And never let me give up the fight.
It was your words that meant so much
And no longer that gentle touch
That calmed my fright…
You used to say,
“It’ll be alright, though it may take time-
Just give it an hour or another day.
Trust me, I know, I’ve been there before;
If you give it time,
it’ll be okay!!”
You’ve been there through all the heartache,
And all the happiness too…
When I was given more than I could take,
You always pull me through.
Your words, they did so much,
So much more than your gentle touch
Could ever do…

The past few years, we’ve been through so much,
Yet it still seems that you’ll always be there
With your ever-so-gentle touch,
And helpful advice to share.

And your touch, it seems to show
That you’ll always care…
You’ll still say,
