This Traveler’s Prayer Passport can be used by anyone embarking on a trip to another country.  This Traveler’s Prayer Passport asks for God’s protection, presence and purposes for our travels using a large variety of scriptures and Bible verses.  This prayer can be used as a prayer for mission groups, evangelism teams, military families going to new duty stations, business and family travelers, those traveling to adopt a child or those going on pilgrimages and retreats.

Traveler’s Prayer Passport

Gracious, Heavenly Father,

Praise to You for your abiding love!

We pray Your sheltering walls of salvation

around us as we embark on our trip.

We thank you for directing

our lives and allowing us to live in

a free country where we can worship you in

Spirit and in Truth.

As we depart our home country, we ask that You be

strongly with us in every way, on every day.  We place ourselves in

your protective custody and call on You to be our

Mighty Fortress as we prepare to follow You in

the steps You have planned.

Keep Your ministering angels before us and around

us as the paths of travel are established and confirmed.

Give us Your obvious presence everywhere we go

and with all the people we meet.  Let the love of Christ

be poured out from our lives as we reach out and touch

others in Your name and for Your sake.

Let us be Your ambassadors of peace and joy in the

Holy Spirit so that those we encounter will sense the

fragrance of You.  When our time away

concludes, we ask you to accompany each of us safely back

to our home country to continue Your Great Commission

there, to make disciples of Jesus Christ.

It is in His precious Name we offer this Passport of Prayer!

About this Traveler’s Prayer Passport 

A good friend who was responsible for coordinating a trip abroad with several people became anxious and lost her confidence to follow through. The prayer was to boost her confidence and encourage her to trust God for help. She eventually followed through and everyone returned safely with many wonderful memories.

The Scripture support is from Psalm 91:11 For He shall give His Angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways.  His Angels will take care of you!

Priscilla Carroll is a retired elementary school teacher, having taught in Alabama, Florida and Georgia. Priscilla is a graduate of Athens College (now Athens State University in Alabama) and holds a Master of Education degree from the University of Georgia. Priscilla is one of the founding members of the Community Bible Study (CBS) in Athens, GA. CBS ministers to over 200 women in the Athens area. In CBS she has been a faithful member for over 20 years and has served in several leadership capacities. Currently, she is on the CBS Bible Study team that offers weekly classes to women in the Athens/Clarke County Jail. Priscilla is a member of Athens First United Methodist Church and serves as a Coordinator in the Disciple’s Adult Sunday Class. Priscilla is the mother of one son and has two grandsons. She is married to Archie, a retired professor at the University of Georgia. In 2018, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
