Prayer: My Wandering Heart

My wandering heart is a
wanting heart
that wants to want you only.
Instead it roams, in search of
. . . who knows what.
I am satisfied so easily with things
that fade away in my grasp.

Oh, to want you only, God.
For my heart to quicken
as often as I open my eyes to you.
For my heart to seek you
and not things.
For my soul to be satisfied
in you alone.
