I consider the Worship Boat a place of prayer because it is a unique place where you can actively worship and praise God with others while sailing on the Sea of Galilee. Your captain and worship leader is Daniel Carmel who welcomes guests aboard a wooden boat for a one hour sailing on the Sea of Galilee. Once out on the lake, Daniel uses the stern of the ship as a platform from which he leads passengers in praise songs. He sings both familiar praise songs such as Our God is an Awesome God and those of his own composition. Some lyrics are in English, then he teaches all on board Hebrew lyrics to the songs. Soon everyone is smiling and praising God together, no matter what language the might speak. Daniel is a Jewish Israeli believer in Christ who came to know Christ through the times of worship he observed when he transported Christian tourists on excursions on the Sea of Galilee.

How I used this place of prayer
Our small group of 5 was worked in with other tour groups from other countries, notably a large group of Russian tourists who brought their translator with them to translate what Daniel said for them. When the worship time began we soon found ourselves on our feet singing with our hands raised along with the Russians. On the boat I felt an incredible feeling of being one with Christians from all over the world through our praise together.

capture-sea-of-g-3Personal Tips
If you have a large group of you can book the whole boat. If you have a smaller group such as ours, you need to wait until several days before you want to sail to find out when your group might be worked in. He now has two boats in operation and the one Daniel sails on where worship is led is called Faith.

The ship sails from the dock at Ginosar where there is a visitor’s center housing the remains of a 1st century fishing boat that is dubbed the “Jesus Boat.” (admission charged.) In this center you will also find restrooms, a gift shop and a snack bar. There’s plenty of free parking.

There’s an opportunity while on board to purchase Daniel’s CD’s as well as souvenir necklaces made locally.
